We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of fifteen Marines and one Sailor during the horrific KC-130T plane crash earlier this week. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of all those affected by the tragedy. To show our support, we have once again teamed up with our friends at The Raider Project and will be donating 100% of the net proceeds from every USMC Raider Patch sold on our website to their organization. With your help we can give back to this great foundation which supports all Marines and their families.
All net proceeds will be donated through July 19th
In January 1942, the Commandant of the Marine Corps issued orders to form the 1st Separate Battalion, under the command of Lt.Col. Merritt Edson. The mission of the Separate Battalion was to be a light force capable of spearheading amphibious invasions, conducting direct action raids, and fighting as a guerrilla force behind enemy lines. Their organization and training were based on the experiences of the British Commandos, as well as the personal observations of Edson in his battles with Nicaraguan guerrillas and another officer, Major Evans Carlson’s observations of the Chinese guerrilla battles against the Japanese. This patch commemorates the original USMC Raider Battalions and their mission.
