Blasting Cap™ 2.0 Tactical Hat

The Blasting Cap™ 2.0 is the next evolution of one of the most popular tactical hats we’ve ever made. Originally designed around the needs of Special Operations personnel working in combat environments, the Blasting Cap has spent more than a decade becoming a staple of downrange headwear. The 2.0 keeps the DNA of the original while introducing a tougher, more structured and athletic fit.

Built from 100% polyester performance fabric with a lightweight, ripstop-inspired feel, the Blasting Cap 2.0 is designed to hold its shape without the bulk of traditional tactical headwear. Laser-cut ventilation across the rear panels provides increased airflow while maintaining a clean, low-profile appearance.

Large front and rear Velcro patch fields provide space for identifier, morale, unit and IR patches. Inside, the Blasting Cap 2.0 retains the signature high-vis VS-17 orange marking panel inspired by the military signaling equipment that helped define the original Blasting Cap.

The minimal-stretch, fitted 6-panel construction creates a secure, structured profile built for the range, field, outdoors and everyday wear.

The hat is tiny. It says L/XL in the description but it’s not. If it had some give, I could break it in. The quality is good, it’s just small. The v 1.0 hats were super shallow, and they fixed that. If they did a mashup of both hats, it’d probably be perfect. I dig RE Factor, I’ve shopped with them frequently, and will continue to. This is just a miss for me.

It was smaller than expected. I ordered the larger size based on measurements. The cap was too tight to be comfortable. I emailed the manufacturer to ask if the cap would maybe stretch a little with wear but it hasn’t happened yet.I was told it would via email. I can’t return it because I wore it to stretch it a little and can’t return it. I sweat alot and thought this would be great for me when I search people and vehicles on hot days. The patch placement looked great and all.

It is nowhere near a L/XL as you advertise. I sent an email on Sept 25,the day it arrived about returning it and getting my money back. As of Oct 4th, I haven't heard anything from anyone. So needless to say, being a first time customer who bout this to be eligible for the Nods drawing. I am not impressed with the customer service.

Runs very large. I've owned over a dozen of the original blasting caps and loved them. I still wear them every day. I was very excited to try to these only to have them arrive and be extremely oversized. I ordered the smallest size (medium? Wtf), which I cannot verify I recieved because there is no size tag on the hats. Maybe I recieved large then, and I can return and have them send mediums with tags, right? No. To add insult to injury, I now find out that I happened to order them in the first couple days available which was apparently during a giveaway period and not eligible for return. Hell of a way to launch a new product RE Factor. Thanks for wasting my money and my trust.
